Over a decade ago, I ventured into the realm of aerial video by reviewing the DJI Phantom 2 alongside Chris Niccolls for The Camera Store TV. After experiencing two drone crashes within a week, I made the decision to leave aerial footage to the experts. Before delving into this review, it’s important to provide some context. Over the past ten years, Chris and I have seldom incorporated aerial footage into our YouTube series. While there have been occasional instances, particularly when accompanied by a skilled pilot, I typically opt to procure licensed stock footage for establishing shots. The sole drone review we conducted during this period featured the $16,000 DJI Inspire 3, for which we enlisted the expertise of professional pilot Arden Shibley from Yellowhouse Aerial, as our own qualifications were insufficient for a comprehensive evaluation.
The DJI Flip effortlessly meets the crucial 250-gram weight limit. This aspect is especially intriguing as it could provide a convenient solution for capturing footage during Chris’s solo photo shoots when I am not present.
